Embarking on a field trip to Hylton Planetarium promises an enriching experience for students, merging education with celestial wonder. Read below see how educators can ensure a seamless visit.

Research
1. Contact Our Director. Get started by reaching out to the planetarium director Tony Kilgore. He’ll guide you through the available time slots and help you pick the best date for your trip. Email him questions directly at KilgorAE@pwcs.edu or fill out our Booking Form Here.
2. Know the Regulations. Prince William County Schools (PWCS) has specific regulations that need to be adhered to for all field trips. Stay informed and make sure your trip is in compliance.
Prepare
3. Permission Slips. Safety and consent are our top priorities. Before embarking on your field trip, each student must have a signed permission slip. You can conveniently download the required permission slip here.
4. Prepare Your Students. Familiarize your students with the planetarium’s policies on behavior, food, drink, and mobile device usage. This ensures that everyone can have an enjoyable and distraction-free experience.

Visit
5. On the Day of your Visit. We recommend arriving at least 20 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure smooth entry and seating. Our team will be available to assist and answer any questions you might have.
